20th August, 2007: Inuk Networks adds games and interactive services to Freewire IPTV platform
Inuk Networks announced today that it has entered into a partnership with Stockholm based content aggregator and distributor for IPTV and consumer electronics Accedo Broadband. 9th July, 2007: Cable & Wireless secures ground breaking IPTV deal with Inuk
Cable & Wireless today announced it will be first to deliver national IPTV services via broadband, through a ground breaking wholesale deal with Inuk Networks. Worth around £70 million over five years, the contract sees Cable & Wireless providing Inuk with access to the UK's most advanced nationwide multicast network enabling the delivery of television, telephony and broadband services. 4th July, 2007: IPTV Service Scores with Barclays Premier League Football
Inuk Networks today announced that it is to provide access to live Barclays Premier League games on the Setanta Sports 1 channel as part of its new premium TV offering - Freewire TV Extra: Student Pack. The service, which will be available from September this year to students living in university halls of residence, will feature a line-up of 20 premium entertainment, music and sports channels, including MTV, VH1, Smash Hits TV, Kiss TV, The Box Q TV and Kerrang! Inuk Networks announced today that it has added MTV Networks UK to its Freewire IPTV service. The addition of MTV channels will bring popular music programmes to Freewire TV's student and residential viewers across the UK and is one of a series of recent content deals that include Channel 4, Five and S4C, added to the line-up. 15th May, 2007: S4C joins Inuk Networks' Freewire TV service
Welsh television channel S4C and Inuk Networks, a supplier of triple-play services to consumers, service providers and network operators, today announced an agreement to include S4C Digidol within Inuk Networks' IPTV Freewire TV service. The addition of S4C Digidol to the Freewire TV channel line-up will bring S4C to more viewers across the country. 24th April, 2006: Inuk Announces Intention to Acquire ForeVision Systems
Inuk Networks Ltd. today announced it has entered into discussions to acquire ForeVision Systems Ltd, a professional services company specialising in the provision of Internet, phone and TV solutions to University halls of residence. ForeVision's skills and experience will complement Inuk's technical solution and provide a full range of support and professional services for Universities wishing to deploy triple-play services to their students. As ForeVision is a privately held company, terms of the discussions were not disclosed. A further announcement will be made upon completion of the deal.
4th April, 2006: Inuk Previews Freewire IPTV Solution to Universities at Networkshop34 Conference & Exhibition
Inuk Networks Ltd. is previewing its Freewire IPTV solution at the Networkshop34 hosted at The University of Hertfordshire, between 4th and 6th April 2006. Networkshop is an annual event organised by UKERNA and hosted by a different Higher Education Institution each year. Aimed at network managers and technical staff from the JANET community, the conference provides a forum for discussion on the latest network technologies and brings together expertise from all the fields of networking.
29th March, 2006: UKERNA and Inuk Announce IPTV Trial to Universities Over JANET Network
UKERNA and Inuk Networks are pleased to announce their collaboration on an IPTV trial provided over the JANET network. Months of discussions between the two parties culminated with the establishment of a multicast peering arrangement for the purpose of trialling IPTV services to UK students. Inuk Networks is now active in developing and delivering an IPTV application to provide a Freewire package, of some 40 TV channels, onto the JANET network. The service is scheduled to be launched in May 2006.
9th December, 2005: Ubivisum Changes Company Name to Inuk Networks and Launches New Brand Identity
Ubivisum Ltd. today announced its new brand identity and officially changed the company's name to Inuk Networks Ltd. Inuk is derived from the Inuit word for people. Inuk's new corporate logo depicts an Inukshuk, which is a stone sculpture in the form of a man which is used as a pathfinder in the Arctic by travellers on the frozen tundra.
16th October, 2005: Ubivisum Appoints Simon Gibson, OBE as Chairman
Ubivisum Ltd. today announced the appointment of Simon Gibson as its Chairman. Gibson is also Chief Executive of Wesley Clover Corporation, the private holding company that today also announced a significant investment in Ubivisum. Gibson has been the recipient of four national R&D awards, sits on the Ofcom Advisory Panel, and was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1999.
16th October, 2005: Ubivisum Secures Seed Funding From Wesley Clover
Ubivisum Ltd. today announced it agreed significant private seed funding from Wesley Clover in return for a shareholding in its business. Ubivisum has secured investment to ensure product development and stability for at least the next three years. Wesley Clover is the private venture capital firm of Sir Terence Matthews, focusing on new technologies that are likely to have considerable impact and first-mover advantage in the telecommunications, computing and networking markets. Portfolio companies include Mitel, Newport Networks, March Networks, New Heights and Ubiquity.
17th May, 2005: Ubivisum Announced as One of Technium Challenge Winners
Ubivisum Ltd. was today announced as Runner-Up of the 2004/05 Technium Challenge. Technium Challenge is an annual business planning competition designed to provide new or existing businesses with high-growth potential the opportunity to enter a fast-track route into a Technium. The competition was set up to make Technium more accessible to early stage companies by offering bespoke business acceleration programme of support including assistance with the business planning process to transfer ideas into commercial high growth business propositions.
25th April, 2005: Ubivisum Secures Financial Support from SMARTCymru Scheme
Ubivisum Ltd. today announced that it has received a funding grant from the SMARTCymru scheme for a technical feasibility study of its planned IPTV solution. SMARTCymru is a research and development scheme to assist new product and process development. The scheme from the Welsh Development Agency (WDA), provides access to funding and a unique range of skills and expertise.
