S4CDM is a commercial subsidiary of S4C. The Broadcasting Act 1996 and the Communications Act 2003 gave S4C certain powers to participate in commercial activities. To enable S4C to invest in Inuk Networks, S4C was required to seek an Order from the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport. The order came into force on April 2nd, 2008.
S4C is one of the UK's five public service broadcasters. S4C Digidol is available on Sky 104 in Wales and on Sky 135 outside Wales. It is also available in Wales on Freeview on 4 and Virgin TV on 194. In 2007, S4C was made available on Inuk's Freewire service. S4C is also available to watch online at http://www.s4c.co.uk
